As a two packs per day smoker for more than 15 years of my life, I was a little on the skeptical side when the topic of vaping was brought up. I honestly didn’t believe it would help me quit smoking; especially with all the alternatives out there from the gum, to patches, to prescription meds not helping me one bit. I didn’t see how these devices would do the job those other options couldn’t, but they did help and I want to share what you can expect to notice once you decide to make the switch to vaping.

New Sensation

The first major change noticed in my “smoking” habits, was with an e-cigarette, I found myself not using it as often. It’s such a different sensation, that even to a heavy smoker like me, the slightest draw would cause me to cough. Now, that actually isn’t a bad thing, even though it might sound like it. It just means you need to slow down and crawl before you walk. This helps you with not using the device as much. However, you’re still getting the nicotine you’re needing and be able to go longer before having to vape again.

Improved Smell & Taste

This next experience was a complete shock to me. I didn’t realize how much smoking was affecting my smell and taste. Within the first week of making the switch, I noticed how much better food was tasting, as well as smelling. This might not seem like a lot to some, but once you realize just how many ways smoking was affecting your body, you’ll be willing to look at things from a different point of view. I smelled better, rather than the walking ash tray I had become, and I began striking up conversations with ladies at the bar easier as well.

Breathe Again

The biggest change you will notice above all, is in your breathing, as well as your overall health. You won’t notice this change immediately, because it takes time to reverse the damage you have done to yourself. But once you do start to notice it, you’ll be one of those advocates for the vaping community that tries to convert others.

What it basically comes down to is this simple thing; you owe it to yourself to feel your best at all times. Vape shops are still under the national spotlight, but the evidence speaks for itself. When doctors are recommending their patients switch to this alternative if they can’t or refuse to quit; that should really tell you something. With all things said, do the research ahead of time and make a decision for yourself.
